~100 'West Indies' or Havana Cigar Tobacco seeds, USDA Organic, Ore
This tobacco cures out to be a dark-leaved, aromatic cigar or chewing tobacco.
The plant produces large leaves and pink flowers to five feet. In the early spring, press the seed into the surface of good potting soil in a flat, and keep warm and moist until germination. Thin the seedlings if needed, and prick up to 4-inch pots after they attain two sets of true leaves. Grow that way until all danger of frost is passed, then transplant out to the garden spaced two feet apart in full sun. Give nitrogen-rich fertilizer, such as manure or compost. sms
