Peanuts grow best in light, sandy loam soil with a pH of 5.9–7. Full sun, medium water.
Their capacity to fix nitrogen means that they add nitrogen to your soil and can significantly improve soil fertility. Makes a great rotation crop. Jimmy Carter grew peanuts.
