Bee Propolis Tincture, 1/3 fluid OZ, Lavender Farm, CA
Bee propolis in a liquid extract form; an alcohol-based tincture from a 3-1 full extraction. This is organic propolis, harvested by me, Datura Don, from one of my honey bee hives at an organic Lavender Farm outside of Morgan Hill, CA. Ingredients: Everclear, fresh propolis, love. To convert to a glycerine or water based formula, simply add an equal amount of liquid and allow the alcohol to evaporate. Best if kept dark and cool. Amber bottle with a dropper insert. Suitable for all uses. Naturally antibiotic, anti-septic and anti-viral; promotes immunity and immune health.
Bee propolis is a dark, resinous, sticky, gummy substance made by honey bees for millennia. The special resin is gathered from the leaf buds of cone-producing evergreen trees (such as pine) and certain vegetables. Once the resin is transformed by the worker bees into 'bee goo,' it naturally disinfects the beehive, seals cracks and holes, and is used as glue to hold the hive together. If a mouse dies within the hive, it is covered and mummified in a propolis coating to protect the inner hive for years.
Propolis is a natural and powerful micro-biocidal agent that hampers bacterial and viral growth. Researchers have found that bees living in hives coated with propolis have a lower bacteria count in their bodies and also have ‘quieter’ immune systems. Propolis was even known to the ancient Egyptians as a rare and magical healing substance, and was cherished by the ruling classes.
