A traditional Asian favorite with bumpy skin that develops a gray-to-blush, cloudy "bloom" on the surface. Firm, bright orange flesh with unique, fruity flavor. Skin is thin and edible, so there is no need to peel. Long vines. Black Futsu is an heirloom Japanese squash with attractive, deeply ribbed, bumpy skin that cures from deep black-green to a warm orange buff color. After harvest, it develops more of a nutty flavor.
Stores for 4–5 months. Avg. weight: 2–4 lbs. Avg. three fruit per vine.
