Annual. 90-100 days. Usually grows with multiple heads at various heights, always dark black seeds that leave a black spot on your fingers. Organically grown in Oregon.

The seeds were used by Native Americans as a purple dye. Heirloom variety from the Hopi tribe. The black-seeded sunflowers are the highest in natural oils, and can be eaten as well.
