The Atlantic Giant is the largest pumpkin for competing in the Half Moon Bay Annual Pumpkin Festival and any other Giant Pumpkin Contest. This variety can reach 2,000 pounds and is a favorite among serious farmers for growing the largest squash in the world.
Plant in spring after frost risk is over. Full sun, rich loam.
Professional show growers will trim back to one pampered fruit and water daily with extra fertilizer. Hay or other material may be used to buffer the bottom against wet soil.
