80-100 Days. AKA guajillo chilies, chile guaco, or mirasol chile. This is a mild landrace variety with a mirasol (sunflower) chile fruit type. The guajillo chile pepper has a rather dark reddish-brown color with a thin, smooth, shiny almost transparent skin. They are commonly dried and used throughout Mexico as a base for flavor rich salsas and sauces. They add a complex fruity flavor with sweet, smoky overtones and just a hint of heat. Definitely tasty and aromatic. A most popular variety in Mexico that is second only to poblano peppers. Very popular in New Mexico cuisine in the US Southwest where great food is found.

The fruit is about 4-7 in. long. Early setting and long bearing plants get to 24" tall.
