This Central American annual is rich in lutein, a carotenoid with possible anti-inflammatory properties. Lutein improves vision in patients with retinal degeneration. When added to chicken feed, lutein-rich marigold flowers help make their egg yolks turn a richer, deeper orange. An excellent cut flower with colors in the yellow, orange and gold range on long stalks.
Full sun. Ht. to 50” with two-inch flowers. Best to start in pots then transplant to avoid bug damage. Organically grown at NightShade Farm, but not certified.
