Pole bean, a South American heirloom that grows very well in US gardens. A vigorous climber that matures quickly and produces big yields. Pods are straight, pointed, and flat. They can be eaten fresh as a green bean (but not stringless), or dried and stored. Pods mature to a lovely green color, turning brown as they dry out. Seeds are egg shaped, colored in mottled maroon and white in a semi yin/yang type pattern. They are very easy to de-husk to find the pretty beans inside. Store in bug-proof containers.
Mild flavored and quick to cook as dried beans.
