(112 days) Open-pollinated.

Not to be confused with the North Georgia Candy Roaster, this large Appalachian heirloom (possibly originating in North Carolina) is superb as a baked squash, boasting unmatched eating quality worthy of its name.

Candy Roaster grows luxuriant vines with large leaves, with fruit that matures into large, slightly warty, buttercup-shaped fruits of variable size in colors of pinkish-orange to blue-green. Warmth brings out its heirloom sweetness, but it will not reach thatfull flavor potential in cool summer areas.

Averages two fruits per plant ranging from 5–25 lb each.
