20 'Bhut jolokia' Hot Chile Ghost Pepper seeds, Capsicum chinense, India
120-150 days from seed, 100-120 from transplant starts, six to eight months ideally for mature 4-ft plants. AKA ghost pepper, ghost chile, U-morok, red naga, naga jolokia and ghost jolokia. The Ghost Pepper is an heirloom, cross-bred hot pepper cultivated in five Indian states for many generations. A short-lived tropical perennial in India; an annual in frost-prone USA areas.
The Bhut jolokia starts out slow but eventually grows into tall plants--exceeding four feet in favored locations (consistently hot temps with a long growing season). The thin-walled, slightly wrinkled, pointed fruits reach 2-3" in length, typically ripening to an eye-appealing, bright red. Consider red as a major caution warning for this super hot and spicy chile pepper. This chile is a world-class capsicum classic!
About 1,000,000 Scoville Heat Units, easily one of the hottest peppers in the world. The Guinness Book of World Records certified the Bhut Jolokia Ghost Pepper as the world's hottest pepper about ten years ago! Genuine jolokia seeds, imported from India.
