Czech Black Hot Pepper OG (65 days) Open-pollinated. Shiny black when immature, the 2½ inch–long conical peppers ripen to lustrous garnet red at maturity. Bears very early with about 20 pointed, thick-walled peppers on each three-foot plant.
The heat (2,000–5,000 SHU, or a bit less than a jalapeño) is mostly in the ribs and seeds and not in the flesh. Mild, juicy, thick-walled flesh runs with a cherry-red juice when cut. A delightfully mild hot pepper with lots of good looks.
