1 gram Angelica archangelica seeds, 100s of seeds
Angelica seeds; Holy Ghost, the Archangel herb.
A lesser known, but very useful herb, Angelica has been used for centuries as a flavoring for liqueurs, a seasoning for fish, and in essential oils and fragrances. Even the stems can be candied! Similar in aroma to musk or juniper, this is a versatile plant. From the 10th century on, angelica was cultivated as a vegetable and medicinal plant. It achieved popularity in Scandinavia in the 12th century and is still used today, especially in Sami culture. Angelica is a shamanic medicine among the Saami or Laplanders.
Angelica prefers cool climates and a semi-shady to sunny location. If planted in a zone with hot summers, a location with afternoon shade is preferred. Angelica thrives in moist fertile soils rich in organic matter. For best results, plant Angelica in slightly acidic soil. The plant is not drought tolerant and should not be allowed to dry out.
