Atropa Belladonna seeds, China, 4 sizes
Perennial bush to three feet, with a rich history. Belladonna dies back in winter after first frost.
A Wicca standard. Rumored to be a part of the famous Witch's "Flying Formula."
Contains atropine, which is both a medicine and a poison in high doses. Medicinal herbal usage: mydriatic, muscle and nerve pain, motion sickness, IBS, nerve gas poisoning.
Likes colder climates with frosty winters. Part sun, medium water. Usually flowers in second year. Flowers are beautifully tubular, with shades of pink and purple, turning into shiny black berries: the 'Devil's cherry.'
I have personally eaten the fresh berries and they are quite tasty, but eat half of a belladonna berry pie and you will most likely leave your humanbody and never come back...
