Phalaris arindinacea, Reed Canary grass, 3 sizes
Perennial. Easy to grow prairie plant that likes water and sun, but tolerates all conditions, and looks like ordinary upright crab grass until it flowers and seeds. Dies down in winter to re-sprout in Spring. Usually flowers in the second year. Grows all over the USA; tolerates heat, drought, floods, shade and full sun. Very versatile plant. Looks much like lawn grass or large crab grass, but taller. A simple spiked reed with broad, wonderful seed clusters that distinguish this species. USA Grown.
One of the plants considered as an American Ayahuasca Analog. Similar to Mimosa hostilis in some ways. Grows all over the USA. Recommended for use in range seeding, soil conservation, wildlife food and foreground cover. About 1,000 seeds per gram. One of my best sellers.
"I'm very excited my phalaris seeds quickly sprouted into grass; it's healthy and strong. It took about 7 days to germinate; I kept the seeds moist in the interim."
