Perennial, if frost free. This gorgeous climbing vine is an eye-catching combination of deep green leaves and violet blooms set against burgundy stems will jazz up any herb garden. AKA Climbing Spinach Vine, Red Vine Spinach, and Creeping Spinach. Malabar spinach is a fast-growing vine that has both ornamental and culinary qualities.

Edible leaves can be used throughout summer and will flourish even in heat and humidity. Young leaves of this herb plant can be cooked and added to recipes and fresh leaves make a great salad addition but without the traditional flavor of spinach. -rs
